Meet the Maker

good things made by real people!

We’re always looking forward to introducing the artisans, craftspeople, and makers behind the products & pieces we choose to carry.

We source from lots of talented makers, but every now and then, someone’s doing something so thoughtful that it deserves some extra attention.

Here’s one who recently caught our eye …

We carry a changing selection of Susan’s pieces as she creates them. Visit us for availability!

Longtime local resident and designer Susan Dunn has been creating jewelry for five years. She has two wonderful children, a fun husband, one cool cat … and we’re lucky to have her working just one door over at our Home department, Hawthorne !

Susan creates contemporary jewelry using a combination of semi-precious gemstones and antique watch fobs. Watch fobs were a popular art form for both men and women starting with the invention of the pocket watch in the 1700s. Made from 10 or 12 carat gold over brass, these decorative pieces can sometimes be found with monogrammed initials on the bottoms, and historically hung from pendants or pocket watch chains.

This style of jewelry speaks to the person interested in owning something beautiful and unique, easily allowing for a seamless transition from a casual daytime look to an evening out!
